New drivers receive classroom instruction with certified trainers and train behind the wheel before operating any vehicle for our customers. This thorough training is designed to instill confidence and competence in our drivers.
Drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Drivers must pass and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Drivers must possess a valid school bus driver’s license (CDL) issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Drivers are subject to criminal background checks.
Drivers must take reasonable and appropriate actions to prevent students from using indecent or profane language while the text is about being moved or carried from one place to another.
Drivers must not consume alcohol or use drugs or controlled substances before or during work hours.
Drivers must always carry their school bus driver’s license, a list of their students, and a route sheet indicating authorized stops while on duty.
All drivers must submit to random, unannounced on-site urine and breathalyzer tests. If drivers appear under the influence, they cannot take a bus route.
Drivers must comply with all drug testing requirements mandated by state or federal law or by Prime Time Bus Company
Drivers are prohibited from using tobacco on duty.
Drivers can only remove a student from the bus at a location other than the approved bus stop with prior authorization.
Drivers must immediately report any accidents involving the school bus.
Drivers must follow established bus routes as determined and approved by the appropriate School District.
All drivers must attend safety training sessions.
